Previous Position:

Prior to working at Augusta Public Schools, I taught nine years in various Special Educaiton classroom setttings.  My teaching career starting in 1992  at Oakdale Jr. High in Rogers, Arkansas as a self-contained Special Education Teacher.  My husband and I relocated to Kansas in 1993. I accepted a position at Valley Center Jr. High as an Interrelated Teacher within an inclusion setting with the Sedgwick County Interlocal Cooperative.  After purchasing property outside of Augusta, I accepted an Interrelated position with the Butler County Special Education Cooperative working as an Interrelated Teacher within a resource room at Rose Hill Middle School.  I was offered a self-contained Special Education position with Bluestem Middle School and then transferred to Bluestem High School as the resource room teacher.  After my two children arrived, I chose to stay home with them for six years.

Personal Information:

My husband and I met in college at the University of Arkansas and married the week following our college graduation.  We have two children  who attended Augusta Public Schools beginning in Kindergarten at Ewalt Elementary.  They recently graduated from Augusta High School and are now attending Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. We live on a small farm outside of Augusta.   Our pets consist of a herd of cattle, a dog, a cat and a horse.

I enjoy gardening, sewing, golfing and baking cookies. When I’m not teaching I’m either visiting my children in Oklahoma or working on our farm with my husband.
