William Allen White Book Challenge
Students in grades 3-5 are able to participate in the William Allen White Award program. This is a Kansas state book award and the winner of the award is chosen by students. The award is in honor of William Allen White, a renowned newspaper editor, politician and author from Kansas. Each year, books, published within the past two years, are nominated by Kansas librarians for categories in grade 3-5 and grades 6-8. Students are encouraged in grades 3-5 to read 6 William Allen White Books and write one book report to receive an invitation to a pizza lunch celbration party in late April, after the voting is complete. The form is available in the library.
